FANTASTIC !!!
What a truly great weekend was had by all at the Tom Rees 2 day meeting. The sun shone, the racing in each class was fast and furious, the track stood up well thanks to the hard work of the track crew, the spectators turned up in huge numbers and above all everyone had fun and enjoyed themselves, it doesn't get much better!
As we know this can be a dangerous sport and unfortunately a few riders did get hurt:
Sean Hanley has a broken collarbone and chipped shoulder and will be in a sling for a while.
Josh Corbett suffered a dislocated shoulder and some ligament damage.
Shaun Barlow had a huge crash (I know he almost landed on me!) and has a broken collarbone, broken ribs and punctured lung, to add insult to his injury his bike suffered badly as well.
To all these riders we all hope you make a speedy recovery and hope to see you back at the track soon.
Darren from Bright Wight Images has uploaded some great photos that are now availably to view and purchase at www.brightwightimages.com/gallery2.
THIS WEEKENDS TOM REES
I hope you're all getting excited about the 2 day this meeting weekend and if you're anything like me you will be checking the weather daily. The latest met office gives the possibilty of a rain shower each day but warm and sunny in between so probably be perfect providing it doesn't rain during the A group or Over 35 races! As you all know this weekend is dedicated to the memory of Tom Rees and is regarded as a fun weekend, there are no championship points at stake but there are the odd trophy or two. A final reminder that there is no entry to the track before 4pm on Friday, if you turn up before then you will have to wait. You can sign on and get your bike scrutineered on Friday evening as well. Once last reminder, please don't forget to bring some change for the charity box.
DOGS
Please be aware that dogs will not be allowed at any future race meetings (I know what you're thinking, we mean of the animal kind!). This applies to all riders and spectators so will you please ensure you inform all your friends, family and fans who turn up on race days as we don't want to have to turn people away, thanks

I just wanted to let you know that the results from RD4 & 5 will be posted soon. We're really sorry about the delay but we have encountered a severe technical hitch with loading these to the website and hopefully they will appear very soon

RACE DAY CONDUCT
Unfortunately there have been instances recently where race day officials have been subjected to verbal abuse from riders or parents. Please be advised that no matter what the circumstances this is unacceptable behaviour and will not be tolerated. Each occurrence will be discussed and dealt with by the committee, which ultimately may mean riders being excluded from attending races due to their actions or the actions of their parents. You are reminded that we all go to the race meetings for fun and enjoyment and the officials and marshals are there to enable you or your children to race. Without their help we would not be able to hold race meetings.
